Nope--She really did die in 1989. Google it.
Reply:Dunno..but I think Daphne du Maurier is no longer with us..perhaps you mean her, the author who wrote Rebecca, Jamaica Inn, and others?
Reply:Daphne Du Marnier died in 1989 but she lives through her many and marvellous writings, Jamaica Inn and Rebecca to name but two! She lived in Cornwall for part of her life, my own home County, and she is remembered most years during the festival in Fowey. There is usually some kind of celebration of her life and work in and around this area. So, she lives on........

She is dead but wrote some of my favorite books!

Reply:No great author ever dies! (at least in a metaphysical sense) As you now already know, she died in 1989. And she is not in 'orbit', obit is short for obituary, which is the published notice of someone's death, usually accompanied with brief biographical notes.
