Who is daphne in greek mythology?

She was a nymph of the woods, Apollo, god of music, fell in love with her because of her beautiful voice.

She didnt want to have any relationship with him but it didnt stop him from chasing her.

Daphne, already desesperated, begged to the god of the rivers Peneus, to help her, so she was slowly turned into a Laurel tree.

That's why this tree is sacred to Apollo.

There's a very famous sculpture about this scene

Who is daphne in greek mythology?
Daphne was a nymph chased by Apollo whose infatuation with her was caused by the arrow of Eros. It was an act directed by Eros towards Apollo who had always been irritated by the manners of the god. Daphne prayed to the river god Peneus to help her and she was transformed into a laurel tree which became sacred to Apollo.
