What do you think of the name Daphne for a girl?

I adore it! ;) Soft, yet spunky, sweet, simple, classic and familiar ... but not at all overused or expected. Just a wonderful all-around choice.

Actually, I rather like it. It's a nice traditional name, and you've not done anything peculiar with the spelling. If you like it, go for it.





Edit: There's NOTHING "original" or "unique" about "Neveah"; it's "heaven" backwards (ie Hell/ Purgatory and they're popping up like weeds all over Chaveville and Trailertown.

It's not a common name that you hear very often. But... it's not an unusual name like, Neveah.

Reply:I think it's very sweet. I love it. It's my first choice for a girl: Daphne Margaret. I love the nickname Dav. I also love the Greek myth behind it. People are probably going to say something stupid like Scooby Doo or Daffy Duck, but it's just ignorant. It's pretty and very unusual.

I actually also like someone else's suggestion of Delphine, which sounds a bit similar. If you were looking for cute nicknames, besides just Daph or Daffy (well, that's more of a pet name lol), Delphine has some great options - Della, Delphi, Fin, etc.





Either name is just gorgeous; if you love Daphne, go ahead and use it!

Reply:ha ha..i love it...wanna know why??? cause it's my name..i hated it as a kid...but as i growwed i learned to love it..the only reason i hated it as a kid becaused kids use to call me daffy duck......now everyone always tell me how pretty it is...however mine is spelled differently
