In the book Rebecca, by Daphne Du Maurier, what is the narrators name?

I know there is no real name but on page 213 of the book it says caroline and they present her to the crowd and they are referring to the narrator so is the narrators name caroline?

I checked page 213 but could not find your reference.

However, Caroline de Winter is the name of the girl whose portrait hangs on Manderley's walls. Her gown is the one that the narrator copied to surprise Maxim at the fancy dress ball, with such dire consequences. So no doubt that is the Caroline you are referring to.

As far as I know there is never a reference to the name of the narrator at all.

A tour de force narrative and tale. One of my all-time favourite books.
Reply:As far as I remember, she remains unnamed.
